Many of you know that the MLR regulation included in the PPACA has affected Major Medical and our ability to work with carriers to enroll into their plans while being paid a fair rate of compensation for the work involved. Here is your chance to support your local Missouri Representative in Congress, Billy Long. Please take the time to click review the proposed HR 815 below and click the link below to take action to make them remove Commissions from the MLR regulation. If you’re not a NAHU member then please contact me and I will get you the membership form. As far as I could tell, it has no baring on whether you can submit a message to Rep. Long via the link below.
Thank you so much for taking the time to retain the health insurance market with common sense regulation and help support the agents that work hard to serve their clients needs. John C. Osborn

Last week, Reps. Billy Long (R-MO) and Kurt Schrader (D-OR) introduced H.R. 815, a bill to remove broker compensation from the Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) calculation. This legislation would stop the MLR regulation issued under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) from causing carriers to reduce the commissions of agents and brokers which has led to a reduction in consumer access to crucial services provided by insurance producers on a daily basis.
As legislation is required to be introduced in each Congress if a bill does not pass, we have once again worked with Congress to introduce the MLR bill into the House of Representatives for the 114th session of Congress. We need your help to get the message out! Adding cosponsors to H.R. 815 will strengthen our message on Capitol Hill about the negative impact the MLR provision has had on jobs across the country. Please urge your representative to cosponsor H.R. 815 by clicking “Take Action” today!
